Division of the Civilian Volunteer - Medical Reserve Corps

Profile:
The Mississippi Radiation Response Volunteer Corps was formed to train volunteers how to screen the public for radioactive contamination. The volunteers will assist local and state authorities in their efforts of population monitoring which includes screening and decontamination. While population monitoring during a mass casualty will be the foremost role that the volunteers will perform, its volunteers will be available to assist as needed. Volunteers are trained to operate a community reception center, which is where the public will report to be screened for radioactive contamination in the event of a radiological incident.
