Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps Make A Difference - Be The Response! Monroe County, MI---Public health emergencies can occur at any time of the year. If you want to make a difference in the community during public health emergencies or special events, the Monroe County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC), under the direction of the Monroe County Health Department (MCHD), is looking for you! Volunteers are needed to fill both health professional and non-medical support roles that may be needed in a public health emergency. Health professionals (i.e., nurses, physicians, physical therapists, dentists, paramedics, etc.) and non-professionals are all encouraged to volunteer. January 2018 Orientation sessions for those interested in becoming Monroe County MRC volunteers will be held: Thursday, January 11 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 16 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 24 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. New member orientations are hosted on a quarterly basis. Any adult wishing to volunteer, but unable to attend the orientations listed above, may call 734-240-7862 to schedule an individual orientation. Orientations will be held in the Monroe County Health Department, 2353 S. Custer Rd, Monroe. Each orientation session provides an overview of the Medical Reserve Corps program, volunteer requirements and trainings, and the role of the MRC in Public Health. Interested individuals are required to attend only one orientation session. If you previously attended an MRC orientation session, you do not need to attend again. Please contact the Monroe County MRC Planner, Carolyn Gardetto, at 734-240-7862 or MRC@monroemi.org if you are planning to attend, prefer to schedule an individual orientation or would like more information about the program. ####
